It's great when we hear testimonies of people stepping out, risking it, and a salvation or healing occurs. BUT we also celebrate the fact that people do risk it even when we don't hear of an amazing miracle taking place because God loves it when we step out and exercise our faith. AND who knows you step out in faith and sow a seed, then it's over to the Holy Spirit for what happens next! This is one such testimony...
A lady from our church was at the airport with her family travelling back from holiday when she saw a girl in a wheelchair in front of her. She later found out, having spoke to the dad, that the 8 year old girl had damaged her cruciate during their skiing holiday. It was temporarily plastered up awaiting further treatment when they arrived back in the UK. They had to go through check-in and security, so went their separate ways. However, the lady felt she should have offered to pray for the girl as no one else was likely to, so after settling the family down she went off in search of the girl. She found her and told the dad that she believed in Jesus and would like to pray for his little girl. The dad agreed and so after introducing herself to the girl as a 'Jesus lady' she laid hands on her and prayed for healing. There was no sign of healing having occurred by the time the lady finished praying and left to rejoin her family, but with God who knows what may yet happen?
A true testimony of stepping out in faith, boldness, courage & risking it AND we celebrate & honour it!
Some time ago at Discipleship Group we felt we should prophesy over some people who God was putting on our hearts, but were not present at the group. We did this and got someone to write down all the words & encouragement that God gave us. The next day one of the group was assigned to find the people we had got words for, explain what we had done and give them their words. The report back was how encouraged and touched the people were by the words. Since then we hear that one of those who originally received a word has got together with others and done the same. Again those who received the words were really encouraged and touched. We are informed that there are plans for this to continue!
This kind of thing is what changes the culture around us and brings Heaven to earth!
One Friday night the team came armed with words of knowledge the Lord had given them earlier in the day. The words involved issues of physical pain, emotional pain, relationship difficulties, sleep disorder and more. The words were given, people responded and everyone set about praying. As a result of this time we heard of a number of instances where joint pain went, those suffering sleep issues having a great nights sleep and someone who was having a series of constant headaches having them no more! We love it when Jesus shows up in this way and His children get healed and set free!
Whilst out Treasure Hunting during Soul in the City our clues led us to go to the park where we discovered a whole load more clues and a group of young people who were our 'treasure'. One of them had already been treasure hunted on a previous occasion! We prayed for two of the guys who had busted knees, which they couldn't bend due to skating accidents and immediately both got healed and had full movement in their knees. They started freaking out with excitement and suddenly others wanted healing prayer. The group set about praying for people and we saw a back healed, a leg grow out, shoulder pain go and a lump on the neck dissolve as hands were laid on it. Some of the young people getting healed were ringing friends to come to the park to get prayer. We had loads of opportunity to share about Jesus, His goodness and His desire to have relationship with them as well as prophesy God's destiny over their lives. What had started as a rather small group ended up being a rather large group who had had an encounter with Jesus by the time we left!
